SESSION DETAILS

Sessions are very comfortable and laid back with no rush and plenty of time to capture the best images possible.  They typically last between one and two hours so please plan your day accordingly.  Sessions can take place in my living room studio, on location at your home for a more unique, personal look or at any Sitka location.

 

SITKA LOCATIONS

I prefer to photograph older children and families outdoors.  I have several favorite locations in Sitka and I will be more than happy to suggest a location for your family, however, if you have a specific location in mind I would love to try it!
 

WHAT TO WEAR

Depending on you or your child's personality and style you can choose solid colors accented with a fresh modern piece, you can put together a fun and funky outfit, or you can keep it simple. 

For newborns and babies under one year of age, I like to take a portion of the photographs with only a diaper on, so dress the baby in loose clothing or only in a blanket prior to the photo session in order to avoid red elastic lines on their skin.

TIMELINES

Photo Shoots are scheduled on a first come first served basis. Photo shoots are scheduled on Saturday mornings and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. A limited number of week day spots are also available between April and September.

Christmas Photo Session cut-off is November 20th.

SHS Senior Yearbook Deadline is usually October 20th.

MEHS Senior Photo Session cut-off is May 1st.

Approximately 3 weeks after your session, the proofs from your session will be available for you to view in a personalized online gallery.  Feel free to have friends and family view the gallery.  All orders need to be placed within two weeks from the time your gallery is available.  Print orders are placed online through a professional print fulfillment service.

BABIES & maternity

Photographing babies takes a lot of time and patience and I find that its easier for young children to relax and the best results are achieved when your child is well rested and fed. For this reason I do my best to accommodate nap schedules by being flexible with my time.

Newborns are best photographed within the first 3 weeks of their lives. For this reason I gladly schedule newborn sessions on weekdays and evenings. Please contact me to schedule while you are still pregnant.  If you are interested in a maternity session, please contact me so that I can set aside time in my schedule for you.

Sessions last 1-2 hours. I try to keep my sessions relaxed and natural so that I can capture you and your child's personality. I take breaks as needed for snacks or diaper changes.
